About Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group:

In March 2020, two of the Mahoning Valley’s most trusted names in real estate announced a partnership forming a new company, Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group, becoming the premier commercial property group in the area. With offices located on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown, Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group brings over 80 years of combined real estate experience to one location.

About Burgan Real Estate:

Burgan Real Estate has been servicing the Valley as an independently, family-owned residential real estate company 43 years. Since taking over operations in 2017, second generation owners, Sue Filipovich and Patrick Burgan, have almost doubled total sales for the agency to over $100 million in 2019. Their approach to culture, continuing education and commitment to the area have created a business that is dedicated to finding a better way to improve the lives of their clients, agents, and community.
“We are excited to bring together two of the most recognized and trusted real estate brands in the Mahoning Valley to create a powerful combination of commercial real estate services for our clients and to enhance and support our developments,” said Patrick Burgan. “With the creation of this new company, Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group will offer a wider breadth of services while developing a roster of experienced team members to better lead clients and our developments in the Mahoning Valley.”

About Friedkin Realty:

For over 40 years, Friedkin Realty has served hundreds of businesses in the area as a trusted commercial property group. Founded by Alan Friedkin, the company has developed, leased, managed and sold hundreds of thousands of square feet of real estate in the Mahoning Valley. Friedkin has been commitment to providing an honest, transparent and sincere process with clear and constant communication.
“I am excited to bring my years of experience in the commercial and business arena to this new venture, working with a group of highly motivated commercial agents,” said Alan Friedkin. “Uniting with Burgan Real Estate will deliver all of today’s modern techniques for marketing to better serve our clients and all of their needs.”

Alan Friedkin grew up in Youngstown and began in real estate by working in his father’s real estate company. His family owned and managed residential and commercial properties for over 40 years. After his father’s death, Alan decided to move on from residential properties and concentrate on commercial real estate. He sold the residential properties through his use of land contracts and purchase money mortgages that led him to establish Friedkin Realty LLC, a commercial real estate services company. Over the last 30 years, Alan has developed, leased, managed and sold hundreds of thousands of square feet of real estate and brokered the sale of hundreds of businesses in the Mahoning Valley and other areas in Northeastern Ohio.

Johnny Dubic is an Ohio native and graduate of Youngstown State University (2010). He began his commercial real estate career in 2014, successfully obtaining licenses in Ohio and Florida. As a sales professional, he successfully oversaw business development operations of several local companies, including The Palm Café and Boardman Coin and Jewelry, as well as Apex Diamonds Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Provenance Gems in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 2016, he joined Cafaro Company earning responsibilities for leasing multiple properties in lifestyle centers and regional shopping malls in Ohio, Michigan, and Virginia, and received “Deal of the Year” runner up accolades in 2018.

For Lisa Resnick, a native of the Mahoning Valley, moving to commercial properties brings her real estate career full circle. After a brief stint in campaign politics after graduating from Youngstown State University, she began her real estate career on the commercial side at Lowe Enterprises working in acquisitions, asset management, development, and leasing for large scale retail and office developments in the Washington, D.C. metro area. That’s where she gained an insider’s perspective working directly with developers, localities, and executives to ensure they found the right business occupant(s) to help meet their goal of creating desirable locations. Lisa then transitioned to residential real estate in the Washington D.C. region, where, over a six-year period, she was a top performer within her brokerage.

Even with her success in the D.C. area, Lisa saw the progress being made in her hometown and wanted to be part of the positive change. In 2016, Lisa and her family moved back to the Mahoning Valley, and, in 2018, she joined Burgan Real Estate, immediately becoming a top producer. A true advocate for our area, her career successes were accompanied by successes in the community, launching initiatives such as “Walk Youngstown,” which seeks to grow the downtown area by making it more walkable and attractive for residents to experience all it has to offer, and “Homes & Hops,” a podcast and video series highlighting local breweries, small businesses and the positive impacts they have on their surrounding neighborhoods. She is also a 2020 Athena Award Nominee.

McLaughlin brings over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. She became Burgan Friedkin agent this past August.

“Historically, finding a commercial real estate career opportunity in the Mahoning Valley with a company that embraces and works towards achieving an agent’s professional and personal goals is rare,” said the McLaughlin. “After meeting Patrick (Burgan) and Alan (Friedkin), it felt like a breath of fresh air as I found a company offering me the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team working together to make a difference in our area by helping companies and investors find a property that is right for them and also finding a rewarding career for me.”

McLaughlin, a native to the area, has been involved with commercial real estate and business. She has been fortunate enough to work with Roth Bros. and the Cafaro Company in their administrative and construction departments, respectively. She then began working for Handel Investments where, for 18 years, her experiences in assisting with leasing deals and tenant coordination of their properties ignited a desire to become a licensed commercial agent. In 2016, she successful obtained her real estate license and worked locally as a commercial real estate agent.

“Burgan Friedkin was formed to provide an alternative and better experience for people and companies looking to invest in a local property with a dynamic team who do business with a smile,” said Patrick Burgan, co-owner of Burgan Friedkin. “Adding an individual, like Michele, not only brings a level of expertise through experience that other local agencies lack, but also does it with an appreciation for how guiding people through this process is much easier when you treat them with respect and kindness. ”
